You Were Created To Live In Freedom. Are You?

The Freedom Bible Study holds a special place in my heart for a variety of reasons. I’ll talk about that more in a moment, but first, can we just talk about how much I’m learning in this new small group semester that’s just getting started?

I’ve lost count, but I’m pretty sure this is the 10th time I’ve done this study. And EVERY TIME God reveals an area he wants to heal or refine in me, and this time is no different.

I have such a huge capacity to learn and gain wisdom and knowledge. Sometimes I’m driven by my desire to serve others, but sometimes I’m motivated by my desire to feel smart, important, or worthy.

I started asking the Lord to help me confidently recognize who I am without attaching my achievements, accomplishments, successes, or lack thereof to my identity. It looks like he’s ready to get started today.

I learned through the study that God wasn’t mad at me. He wasn’t watching me and waiting for me to fail so He could condemn me. I began to understand God’s love for me, and He continues to show me how faithful, loving, kind, and generous He is.

I met Michael in a Freedom group, and that’s a big one.

It was during a Freedom Weekend that I told the Lord, “I’m done chasing things to draw me away from you. I need you to show me what it’s like to feel your love and teach me how to receive it.”

Before I met Michael, the Lord showed me what it looked like in a very practical sense what it looked like for Him to be all I needed. So, before I met Michael, which was an incredible and life-changing gift, I knew that God was enough for me. And that allowed me to grow in my relationship with Michael, and it needed to work in that order.

Each time I go through the study, another layer is revealed…Sometimes it’s another area in which I need healing, other times I experience more joy, and most often it’s both.

The study isn’t some kind of magical book/event in which we just show up and immediately have no more worries, concerns, or issues. It IS a book that’s filled with God’s Word and presented in a way that’s easy to understand.

Michael and I are leading a group on Thursday evenings at one of our pastor’s houses, and I’m leading a women’s group on Monday mornings.

If you’re local and interested in joining, leave a comment or send me a message. I’d love for you to experience this incredible 10-week journey with us.
